That is how you respectfully say "Hi" in my mother tongue, Tamil!

I'm Vernon Louis
and I'm pursuing my Ph.D. is Computer Science!

My pursuit for a career in research began all the way back in 2014, a year before I graduated from my Bachelors degree. One of my professors urged me to take up the task of writing a paper for a conference. Although clueless about where to begin, I eventually figured it out with the help of a peer and we presented the paper at the conference and this served as a stepping stone to the next. I graduated in 2015 and then completed my Masters degree in 2017.  Following this I started an internship in a travel based start up and worked my way up to the Supply Operations team and the Category Management team. The question about what next always catches up to us and I decided to leave after a period of 3 years and pursue my doctoral degree.

Assistant Category Manager

Banglore, Karnataka, India

An internship with the Supply Operations team eventually materialized into a full time role as a Supply Operations Analyst. After 11 months in the Analyst role, I was offered a promotion into the Category Management team. The organization provided me a steep learning curve and pushed me to aim higher. I was tasked with the responsibility of handling multiple categories including activities in Italy, UK, New York and Iceland. The focus was on building up these categories to be more prominent and it was met with considerable success. The memorable of successes came with the "Buckingham Palace" category, which was identified and worked on in a short span of time.

Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (Dr. AIT)

M. Tech. in Computer Networking, graduated in 2017

Bangalore, Karnataka, India

A dilemma between beginning a career in the corporate world and studying further ended with me pursuing my masters degree. A very time intensive course introduced me to network infrastructures and cryptography. This was also where I first got introduced to blockchains and little did I know how much bearing this would have on me in the future. I was able to pursue minimal research work and published an article in a journal. As a requirement for my masters degree, I secured an internship as a supply operations intern at Headout. a travel start-up.

National Institute of Engineering (N.I.E)

B.E. in Information Science, graduated in 2015

Mysore, Karnataka, India

My 4 years at N.I.E provided me with the opportunity to identify elements of Computer Science, that I am passionate about. First, Data analysis, which was introduced through the module "Database Management System" and Second, Research, which was introduced to be by my professor who handle the module "Operating Systems". It is fair to say that N.I.E. has helped in laying the foundation for the career which I now pursue.
